Subscriber Routing

Sometimes you want to work with a specific subscriber without going through your unreads. Maybe you want to follow up with a VIP, or someone on your team says "check on Alice." Subscriber routing lets you jump straight to any subscriber's context.

Sticky Context with /sub

The /sub command switches your entire focus to one subscriber.

/sub alice

Your prompt changes to show who you're focused on:

@alice>

Now everything you type goes to Alice's AI session, with her full conversation history, profile, and preferences loaded. You can have a multi-turn conversation about Alice without repeating her name:

@alice> read her latest messages
@alice> send her something playful about the weekend
@alice> how much has she spent this month?

Finding Subscribers

If you're not sure of the exact name, type /sub by itself:

/sub

This shows your current context and lists known subscribers you can switch to.

You can also use tab completion. Type /sub followed by the first few letters and press Tab:

/sub ali<Tab>

Whisper autocompletes to /sub alice. If there are multiple matches (like Alice and Alicia), it shows your options so you can pick.

Going Back

When you're done with a subscriber, return to the general prompt:

/sub clear

Your prompt goes back to the default > and you're no longer focused on any specific person.

One-Off Routing with @mention

Sometimes you don't want to switch your whole context. You just need to fire off one quick instruction about someone. Use @mention for that:

@bob check his latest message and respond

This routes just that one instruction to Bob's AI session. Your sticky context stays wherever it was. If you were focused on Alice, you're still focused on Alice after the @bob instruction completes.

@mention works with tab completion too. Type @ and the first few letters, then press Tab.

When to Use Which

SituationUse this
Extended conversation about one subscriber/sub alice (sticky context)
Quick check or single action for someone@bob do something (one-off)
Working through unreads in order/unreads or /review
Don't know who to focus on/sub to see options

Tips

  • Use /sub for VIP subscribers who need personal attention across multiple turns.
  • Use @mention for quick tasks like "check his last message" or "send her a thank you."
  • Remember to /sub clear when you're done so you don't accidentally send instructions to the wrong person.
  • Tab completion works for both /sub and @. Use it. It's faster and avoids typos.
